Thorp Family Attends the Dedication of the Captain Thorp Wardroom
On the morning of Saturday, October 23, the Owen Thorp ’77 Wardroom was officially dedicated.
The facility was packed to the brim with Thorp family, friends, classmates of Owen, former parents of players, and alumni. Most heartwarming, was having Coach Meade back in attendance. I am truly grateful for his support of me and impressed by his love of this program. His words were impactful, but his presence was what meant the most to everyone there.
Kathy Thorp was overwhelmed by the love that was expressed for Owen through your financial commitment, attendance and support of this initiative. As I told her, I am sad that I never me Owen, but through this, I feel like I know him. Upholding the legacy of this program is at the top of my priority list and having Owen Thorp remain as an influence here is as important as any part of that legacy. Thank you to all of you for allowing us to remain true to that promise.

The alums enjoyed food and beverage in the new Terwilliger Center for Student Athletes while watching the Blue & Gold Scrimmage take place at Rip Miller Field.
