Charles Mack is in his first year at Navy and will coach the cornerbacks. Mack comes to Navy from Utah State. In his first year in Logan in 2025, Mack helped Utah State to a 6-7 record (4-4 Mountain West) and its 12th bowl game in the last 15 years.
Mack previously coached at New Mexico (2024) and VMI (2023) and was a regional scout (2019) and graduate assistant (2020-22) at Virginia.
Mack played four years at Richmond (2013-16), appearing in 45 career games for the Spiders. Overall, he recorded 59 tackles, six pass breakups, one interception, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. As a senior, he recorded a career-high eight tackles in a second-round win against North Dakota en route to leading the Spiders to the FCS quarterfinals. Richmond also made the FCS playoffs in 2014 and 2015, including a semifinal appearance in 2015.
Mack earned his bachelor’s degree in leadership studies and sociology from Richmond in 2017 and his master’s degree in social and philosophical foundations from Virginia in 2021
He is married to the former Carley Wilson, and they have two sons, Wesley and Chandler.
