• High School / Personal: A 2016 graduate of The Gilman School, Mehl was a three-sport athlete who earned letters in football (3), lacrosse (1) and track & field ... earned First-Team All-MIAA, First-Team All-Maryland Private Schools and Second-Team All-State (Md.) honors his senior year ... selected to the Maryland Crab Bowl Team ... MIAA-A Champions in 2014 and ‘15, Gilman was ranked 13th nationally ... avid go-kart racer, he first started as a three-year-old and won rookie-of-the-year honors ... took recruiting trips to Army West Point and Yale ... family has a long history of serving in the Navy (father, grandparents, two uncles), however he is the first to attend the Naval Academy ... son of Edward III and Valerie Mehl ... majoring in general engineering.
