Participated in cross country / track (6 years), basketball (2) and baseball (1) at Guntersville High School … Earned Alabama Class 5A All-State Cross Country honors five times; finished third in the state in his meet as a senior in 2019 … Two-time AHSAA 5A Section 4 Champion … Six-time Marshall County XC Champ … Named All-Marshall County and All-Section 4 all six years he raced for Guntersville … Overall champion of the 2019 AHSAA North-South All-Star … Won a pair of Alabama Class 4A-5A State 3200m Championships in 2019 as he swept the indoor and outdoor titles … Collected three All-State outdoor track and two All-State indoor track honors collectively; four-time All-County and All-Section for outdoor track … Member of Guntersville’s 2018 Alabama State Championship winning indoor track and field team (Class 4A-5A) … Served as his cross country team’s captain for four years and outdoor track captain three years … Teammate Trent Mason (’24) runs at Jacksonville State … Gunterville High School Class of 2020 Salutatorian … 2019 Heisman High School Scholarship Award-Alabama State winner … Son of Steve and Julie … Cousins Kenneth (2003-07) and Will Vandervoort (2006) played football at the University of Alabama.
