Biography

Miller in 2012 (Jr.): Played both close defense and pole ... started off as a close defenseman, but shifted to pole for the North Carolina contest following the injury to Pat Kiernan ... returned to close defense against Bucknell ... led Navy with 15 caused turnovers and is second in ground balls with 38 ... Navy boasted the nation[apos]s 14th-best scoring defense, surrendering 8.92 goals per game ... a member of the Mids[apos] man-down unit that was ranked eighth nationally, stopping 75.0 percent (30 of 40) of its opponents[apos] extra-man opportunities ... part of a spectacular defensive effort in which Navy stymied No. 6 Johns Hopkins for the first 25-plus minutes (25:31) of the game and again for better than 31 minutes (31:45) between the second and fourth quarters to hold Hopkins to its fewest goals in a game since April 2, 1966, when Princeton dealt it a 7-1 loss ... additionally, the two goals marked the fewest in series history by the Blue Jays since May 9, 1925, when the Mids earned an 8-1 win in Annapolis ... picked up one ground ball and caused a turnover in the win over Hopkins ... caused a turnover and grabbed four grounders in the Star Game against Army ... picked up four ground balls and forced one turnover in the Mids[apos] loss to No. 7 Lehigh ... part of a unit that held Colgate, the nation[apos]s No. 2 scoring offense, to under its scoring average ... 11 goals marked the fewest goals scored by Colgate since losing to Dartmouth, 9-6, on Feb. 25 ... the Mids also held the Raiders scoreless 18:15 between the first and second quarters, building a 5-1 lead, and for 12:15 in the fourth quarter ... grabbed two ground balls and forced two turnovers against Colgate ... picked up a team-high five ground balls and caused a turnover in Navy[apos]s win over Holy Cross ... caused two turnovers and picked up two ground balls in the win over Towson ... grabbed three ground balls and forced two turnovers against Lafayette ... forced two North Carolina turnovers and scooped up four grounders ... played the wing on faceoffs against Jacksonville where he picked up a career-high six ground balls ... also caused two turnovers ... scooped up a career-high four ground balls and took his first-career shot in the Mids[apos] win over VMI in the opener.

2011 (So.): Saw his only action of the year in the Mids[apos] second game, a 9-8 loss at Loyola, where he played on the wings of faceoffs ... was not a part of the team for the remainder of the year.

2010 (Fr.): Did not see any varsity action ... gained experience in the system on the scout team.
