Zarazua nipped Hughes 11-9 in the fifth game of the match ... played in two of the three matches at the CSA Team Championship, turning in a 1-1 record ... dealt George Washington’s Oisin Logan a 3-1 loss ... joined Navy seniors Andrew McGuinness and Josh Hughes in the CSA Individual Championship ... dropped his opening-round bout in the Molloy Division to Trinity’s Omar Allaudin in three games, but bounced back to earn a 3-2 victory over Michael LeBlanc of Princeton ... bowed out of the tournament with a 3-2 loss to Penn’s Anders Larson.

High School — A 2014 graduate of Great Valley High School in Malvern, Pa., Hughes was ranked among the top 15 American recruits for the Class of 2018 ... he was also a three-year lacrosse letterwinner who garnered First-Team All-Ches-Mont honors as a senior ... member of the Great Valley team that claimed the Ches-Mont Championship in 2013 ... was a member of the US Junior Squash Team in 2010 and was ranked as high as No. 7 in U17 Squash.

Personal — Son of Dominic and Teresa Hughes ... father is a seven-time National Champion who has coached in both Bermuda and Canada ... he was a touring pro in Canada from 1989-95 and was a former head squash pro in Bermuda ... in 2015, he partnered with Rich Sheppard to win the Men’s 50+ National Doubles Championship, while also winning the Men’s 50+ Individual Championship ... brother, Ben, played lacrosse at High Point ... majoring in English.
