2024, ‘25 Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference All-Academic Team
2024-25 // Sophomore Year
• Recorded an 8-14 record, playing primarily the #4 position on the ladder
• Won 6 of his first 7 matches of the season, including sweeps over his foes from #28 Dickinson and #29 Denison
• Earned a gritty come-from-behind victory against Flynn Venmore of Amherst, 9-11, 10-12, 12-10, 11-6, 13-11
• Fell short in three five-game decisions against Bates’ Angad Sethi, Colby’s Timofey Radionov and Williams’ Alex Akbari
• Along with teammates Alexander Orr, Lucas Spiro, Wenqing Tang, Avinash Uppuluri and Matt Wang, Kang was named to the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference All-Academic Team
2023-24 // Freshman Year
• Finished his rookie campaign with a 13-13 record, splitting most of his time between the #4 (5-7) and #5 (6-6) spots on the ladder
• Opened the year by winning 6 of his first 7 matches, including an 11-2, 11-5, 11-3 sweep over Fordham’s Peter Vorbach for his first-collegiate win
• Went 5-2 in extra-game matches, including a solid 3-1 victory over #12 Western’s Amin Khan
• Turned in a 3-0 record at the CSA Team Championship - 3-0 vs. Denison’s Ross Falcon, 3-1 vs. St. Lawrence’s Oliver Bikhazi-Green and 3-0 vs. Hobart’s Javier De La Vega
• Along with teammates Alexander Orr, Lucas Spiro and Matt Wang, Kang was named to the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference All-Academic Team
High School
• 2023 graduate of The Haverford School in Haverford, Pa.
• Four-year squash letter winner who was a three-time All-Inter-Ac selection (first team as a junior and senior, second team as a freshman)
• Recipient of the US Squash William T. Ketcham Jr. Award for Most Improved Player his freshman year ... it recognizes those who have demonstrated complete dedication to the sport by significantly raising the level of their game
• Member of the Haverford squash teams that won the Inter-Ac Championship his freshman, junior and senior years
• Also helped lead the team to the Middle Atlantic Squash Association Championship his freshman year
• Also went on official recruiting visits to Princeton and MIT

• Son of Jon Kang and Sun Hwang
• Majoring in Data Science, he owns a 3.97 grade-point average
• Stands #51 in Overall Order of Merit among the Class of 2027 (1,108 students) ... ranked #38 in Academic Order of Merit and #84 in Military Order of Merit
• Named to the Superintendent’s (F2023, S2024, S2025) and Commandant’s (F2023, S2024, F2024, S2025) Lists multiple times, as well as Dean’s List mention in the Fall of 2024
