2019-20 (Freshman Season): INDOOR: Took part in the 3,000m run, clocking a season-best time of 9:02.60 at the Navy Select … OUTDOOR: Did not compete during the outdoor season, which was shortened by the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
 
High School / Personal: Earned varsity letters all four years at Smithville High School in soccer, cross country, and track and field … As a senior cross country runner in 2018, placed runner-up in the Class 3 District 8 Championship before garnering All-State honors for an 11th place finish at the Missouri Class 3 Cross Country State Championship … The program won the district championship and placed third at states; served as team captain for 2018 … In 2017, placed third at the district championship and led Smithville to the team title … Finished top-three in both the 1600m (third) and 3200m (second) races at the 2019 Class 4 District Championship; followed that up with a third place result in the 1600m at the Missouri Class 4 State Championship … An all-region midfield honoree and team captain as a soccer player during senior season … Graduated as Smithville’s Class of 2019 Salutatorian … Son of Ernie and Melanie … father played soccer at Dordt College in Iowa.
