Biography

Gillcrist had very little sailing experience prior to attending the Academy. In his first year Gillcrist was foredeck on a Colgate 26 in the fall, and moved up to mast-man on the Farr 40 Ranger in the spring and summer where he competed in the Annapolis to Newport race, the NYYC annual regatta and Block island Race Week Has also competed most recently in the GLIOR and the J105 North Americans.
