Career Performance List 2011-12 (Freshman Season):
- Placed sixth in the shot put at the Princeton Dual with a season-best mark of 40-9 (12.42m)
- Placed ninth at the Navy Quad Meet in the shot put at 39-6¾ (12.06m)
- Made a mark of 38-4¼ (11.69m) in the shot put at the Navy Invite
- Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll High School/Personal:
- A 2011 graduate of University City High School, where he earned three letters in track and field and two in football
- Competed in the shot put in high school
- Was both the captain and MVP of his track and football teams as a senior
- Helped lead track and field team to an Eastern League Championship and a Division II CIF title
- Was the senior class secretary/treasurer on student council
- Son of Adonis and Nerissa Maligsa
- Older brother, Phillip, is a 2012 graduate of the Naval Academy
- Majoring in operations research
- Has been named to the Commandant's List once
