• Attended Holy Family School, where he lettered in football (three), wrestling (four) and track (four)
• Earned honorable mention all-state honors as a center with the football team in 2005
• With his help in 2005, the football team won the state title with a 10-3 record
• Twice named first-team all-state in track for his efforts in the 4x100-meter and 4x200-meter relays
• First-team all-region wrestler during his senior season
