• Shober in 2008-09 (Jr.): Battled Navy[apos]s Joel Ahern throughout the season as the Mids[apos] No. 1 wrestler at 157 pounds ... competed in five tournament for the Midshipmen, including the West Virginia Open in which he produced a 4-0 record and claimed the first individual title of his career ... opened the year at the Eastern Michigan Open where he placed sixth ... finished eighth at the Southern Scuffle ... turned in a 4-2 record at the Navy Classic, but his 3-1 sudden victory to Ahern dropped him out of the placewinners bracket ... turned in a 3-2 dual meet record that featured wins over Old Dominion[apos]s Kaylen Baxter (3-2), Lehigh[apos]s Sean Bilodeau (7-4) and East Stroudsburg[apos]s Ken Monarque (16-2) ... nearly upset Rutgers[apos] Scott Winston, who was ranked 11th in the country, but came up short in a 5-4 decision.
• 2007-08 (So.): Dropped a weight class to compete at 141 pounds where he produced a 13-16 record ... placed third at the Navy Classic, winning four of his five matches ... pinned Liberty[apos]s Tim Harner to take third ... opened the Southern Scuffle with a loss, but rebounded nicely with four straight wins, including back-to-back falls over Ryan Scott of Appalachian State and Hofstra[apos]s Justin Accordino ... struggled in dual action where he posted a 1-7 record ... won his lone dual by a 5-2 count against Lehigh[apos]s Jeff Santo.
• 2006-07 (Fr.): Finished an outstanding freshman campaign with an 18-10 record at 149 pounds ... competed in six tournaments ... opened his collegiate career by winning his first three matches, including a 5-3 win over Linwood[apos]s Tyler Babcock at the Eastern Michigan Open ... won all three matches, including a 3-1 overtime decision over Ricky LaForge at the Central New Jersey Open ... placed seventh at the Nittany Lion Open after turning in a 5-2 record ... defeated Boston U.[apos]s Mike Roberts in the seventh-place match ... produced a 2-2 record at the Southern Scuffle, winning both matches by major decision ... posted a 3-2 record at the Edinboro Open ... owned a 3-1 record in extra-period matches.
• High School: A 2006 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School, Shober was a four-year wrestling letterwinner who also earned a letter in cross country ... member of the Schuylkill Valley wrestling team that placed third in the state in 2006 ... after a state semifinal loss, he suffered a knee injury and defaulted to sixth place ... as a senior, he finished third in the state with a 45-1 record ... he won three district titles and two SE regional titles, while earning all-county recognition three times and All-State (Pa.) honors as a junior and senior ... member of the National Honor Society.
