John Lamot III

John Lamot III is in his first year at Navy as a quality control coach.  Lamot comes to Navy from Troy where he was the defensive line assistant for four months.  Prior to Troy, he served as the Defensive Coordinator at Olympic High School in Charlotte (2025) for one season.

At Olympic, he coached the defensive player of the year, eight all-conference players and they were the #1 ranked defense in the conference.  Olympic won the 7A / 6A Greater Metro Athletic Conference.

In 2024, Lamot coached the linebackers at Olympic High School as the team won the South Meck 4A conference championship.

Lamot is a 2019 graduate of Boston College where he earned his Bachelors of Science in communications.  He was named the ACC Rookie of the Year in 2019 at linebacker as he finished with 63 tackles in nine games (missed the last two games with an injury).

Lamot played in 46 games in his career, recording 197 career tackles.  He had a career high 17 tackles against Wake Forest in 2019.

The native of Mebane, N.C. earned his Masters of Science in Sports Administration from Boston College in 2020.
