Former Navy Football Captain To Appear On Wheel of Fortune

ANNAPOLIS, Md.-Gervy Alota, co-captain of the 1997 Navy football team, will be on the game show Wheel of Fortune tonight (locally on Channel 7 at 7 p.m. and on Channel 2 at 7:30 p.m.).

Alota, who is currently a lieutenant in the Navy and is stationed in San Diego, Calif., helped lead Navy to back-to-back winning seasons his last two years at the Academy, including a 9-3 record and a victory over California in the 1996 Aloha Bowl his junior year.

Alota, a rare four-year letterwinner at the Academy, led the team in tackles his senior year with 105. He had a key interception late in the game in Navy's upset win over Georgia Tech in 1996.
