Armed Forces Network to Broadcast Pride Bowl


The Navy defense is set to take on Army in the 2003 Pride Bowl.

Annapolis, Md. -- College Sports TV (CSTV) announced today that Sunday's live telecast of the 2003 Pride Bowl, featuring Army and Navy sprint football, will be carried overseas on the American Forces Network (AFN) to 178 countries and territories worldwide. The Pride Bowl is the chief fundraiser for Project Pride, a non-profit organization that raises money for underprivileged youth in Newark, N.J.

CSTV will air the game live on Sun., Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. and AFN will televise the game at various times across several days to accommodate servicemen and women in all parts of the world. This is the first-ever AFN telecast of an Army-Navy sprint football matchup. AFN makes its telecasts available to overseas locations such as Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine bases, Navy ships at sea and United States embassies.

This is the second year Army (1-0) and Navy (2-0) have met in the Pride Bowl. Last season, the Mids took a 22-9 win over the Black Knights in the Pride Bowl.
