Teague & Linn Garner League Weekly Awards
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- Navy diver Kevin Teague (So., Lexington, Ky.) and swimmer Mike Linn (Jr., Newhall, Calif.) were selected as last week's top performers in the Patriot League, it was announced Tuesday by the league office. These are the second weekly awards of the season for both Navy athletes.
Teague improved to 9-0 on the three-meter and 8-1 on the one-meter springboard with a pair of wins over Dartmouth and Brown in Navy's Nov. 13 double-dual meet victories over the two schools. Teague posted a score of 303.75 to win the one meter by 52 points, as well as a 310.40 to win the three meter by 84 points.
Linn swept both sprint freestyle events for the fifth time in six meets this season, winning the 50-yard free in a time of 21.26 and the 100-yard free with a time of 47.41. The victories improved his record to 8-0 in the 50 free and 6-1 in the 100 free this season. He also swam the anchor leg of the 400-yard medley relay in a time of 46.57 to help Navy place second in the event with a time of 3:32.19. Linn's time was the fastest of anyone swimming the anchor leg.
Navy, 8-1 on the season, will next be in action Dec. 2 when the Mids compete at Army.
