LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Navy swimming and diving teams solidified their first-place standings with just one day remaining at the ECAC Championship being held this weekend at Kinney Natatorium in Lewisburg, Pa. The men's team has totaled 724 points to lead second-place Loyola by 332 points while the women's team is in front of Bucknell by 235 points with the 597 points amassed by the Mids.
The women's team won four events and the men's team six on Saturday, the middle day of the three-day meet.
The day began with
Claire Ellish edging
Lily Barrett for the women's three-meter diving title by 15-hundredths of a point. Ellish tallied 265.20 points and Barrett 265.05. That was a reversal of the 1-2 by Barrett and Ellish in the results of Friday's one-meter final. Barrett, who defeated Ellish by 13 points in the one meter, was named the women's diver of the meet.
Navy swept the 200 medley relay finals, then did the same in the 400 IM races.
Marley Barnard won the women's event in a time of 4:25.87 and
Jaiden Sreenivasan placed first in the men's final with his time of 3:47.84.
Alex Park won the men's 100 fly as his time of 47.29 narrowly defeated teammate
Luke Lamb's effort of 47.31.
Kellan Pattison placed first in the men's 200 free with a time of 1:35.68, then
Corinne Warriner (1:01.84) and
Gio Aguirre (53.30) gave Navy the wins in the 100 breast finals.
The day concluded with the men's team winning the 800 free timed final with a clocking of 6:33.13.
The ECAC Championship concludes Sunday.
