ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy swimming and diving teams will have their first competition in a scored meet this weekend when the Mids first play host to LSU and Loyola Friday at 4 p.m. (diving starts at 3 p.m.) and then UMBC and William & Mary Saturday at 11 a.m. There is no admission fee to attend either of the meets which will be contested in Lejeune Hall.
Navy, LSU (ranked 14th in the men's national preseason poll, 17th in the women's) and Loyola all will be officially opening their seasons this weekend. The UMBC teams (2-0, 2-0) each defeated American and VMI last week while the William & Mary men's team (2-0) has defeated both Georgetown and George Washington this fall and the school's women's team (1-1) has beaten the Hoyas and lost to the Revolutionaries.

Attending The Meet
Fans without approved vehicle access to the USNA must park outside of The Yard. Everyone ages 18 and over must have a valid picture ID (i.e.: State issued driver's license with REAL ID, student I.D., or a U.S. government issued passport). Visitors ages 17 and younger who do not have a valid picture ID must be accompanied by an adult. Foreign passports are not permitted for general access.
Navy Update
The Mids competed in an exhibition meet last weekend at Virginia. There was no team scoring during the event.
The women's team returns 29 letter winners and seven all-league recipients from last year's team that won the program's 14th Patriot League title in a row. Returning for the men's team are 15 all-league performers and 31 letter winners from the 2026 league champions. Navy has won the men's title in all but one of the 22 years in which it has competed at the Patriot League Championship.
LSU Preview
The Tigers placed 16th at the 2026 NCAA Championship on the men's side and tied for 21st place in the women's meet.
LSU previously competed at Navy in 2018 and 2024, with the Tigers winning both meets.
Loyola Preview
The Greyhounds ended last season by placing third in the men's standings and fifth in the women's meet at the Patriot League Championship. Navy narrowly edged Loyola during the 2025-26 regular season with the Mids winning by scores of 153-136 in the women's meet and 164-125 in the men's meet.
UMBC Preview
UMBC won the men's crown at the 2026 America East Conference Championship and finished in fourth place at the women's championship.
Navy defeated the Retrievers last season by scores of 236-63 in the women's meet and 190-101 in the men's dual.
William & Mary Preview
The Tribe finished in first place in the women's meet at last year's Coastal Athletic Association Championship and saw their men's team placed fourth at the championship.
The Navy men's team defeated William & Mary by a count of 192-93 a season ago, with the Tribe winning the women's meet by the score of 169-124.
Up Next
These meets are the only competitions for the Mids prior to facing Army on October 23 at West Point in the annual Star Meet. It will be the earliest Army-Navy meet in series history by 37 days (November 29).
