o With four-tenths of a second left, sophomore kicker Joey Bullen split the uprights for a 46-yard game-winning field goal to give Navy its third-consecutive win over Air Force ... the 46-yard field goal marks a career long for Bullen in his first year kicking for the varsity football team ... it is the second-consecutive year in which a field goal decided the game ... last year Geoff Blumenfeld made a 30-yarder against the Falcons with four seconds left to lift the Mids to a 24-21 win.
o Air Force holds a 25-13 series lead and holds a narrow 7-6 advantage in games played in Annapolis ... attendance for the game was 35,211.
o Today's game marked the first Air Force-Navy game played at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium since 1997 ... the previous three Navy "home" games were played at FedExField in Landover.
o Today's win marks just the second time under Paul Johnson that Navy has won when trailing after three quarters ... the Mids trailed Vanderbilt 20-17 after three quarters of play on Oct. 11, 2003, and won 37-27.
o Junior Jason Tomlinson turned in a career-high 114 yards receiving on four catches ... he is the first Navy player to top 100 yards receiving since Eric Roberts' two receptions for 105 yards vs. Central Michigan on Nov. 22, 2003 ... it's the most yards receiving by a Midshipman since Eric Roberts had three catches for 137 yards against Northwestern, Sept. 21, 2002.
o Junior linebacker Rob Caldwell turned in a career-high 21 tackles ... his previous high was 14 against Stanford and Duke this season ... came into the contest ranked No. 5 in the country, averaging 13.67 tackles per game ... it's the most tackled by a Navy player since Josh Smith turned in a career-high 21 against Connecticut on Nov. 16, 2002.
o Both teams were held below their rushing averages ... averaging 260.67 yards rushing, Navy posted 217 yards on the ground on 52 rushes ... Air Force averaged 250.80 yards rushing, but was held under 200 with 195 yards on 49 carries.
o Lamar Owens' 61-yard TD pass to Jason Tomlinson at 12:40 in the third quarter is the longest play for the Mids since last year's 61-yard completion from Aaron Polanco to Corey Dryden ... the reception marks the longest of Tomlinson's career.
o Freshman slot back Karlos Whittaker scored on a three-yard run with 1:06 remaining in the second quarter ... he has now scored a touchdown in three-consecutive games.
o With an interception and a fumble in the first quarter, it marks the third-consecutive contest in which Navy has turned the ball over at least twice in a game ... Navy has now thrown five interceptions this season, topping last year's total of four.
o With his interception with 8:47 remaining in the second quarter, junior Keenan Little, playing corner back today, produced his second pick in as many games.
o For the fourth time this season, Navy's opponent has put up points on the scoreboard first ... at 2:11 in the opening quarter, Air Force senior kicker Scott Eberle punched in a 20-yard field goal to give the Falcons a 3-0 lead.
o Navy is now 5 for 9 on fourth-down conversions this season ... on fourth and four to go with 9:34 left in the first quarter, the Mids converted on a four-yard reception by sophomore slot back Reggie Campbell ... it marked the first time this season the Mids have gone for it on fourth down in the opening quarter.
o Air Force quarterback Shaun Carney's 54-yard touchdown pass to Greg Kirkwood was the longest pass play by a Navy opponent since last year's 87-yard throw by Tulane's Lester Ricard to Roydell Williams (Nov. 6, 2004).
o Full back Matt Hall and quarterback Lamar Owens each carried the ball 20 times, the most by a Navy player this season ... the previous high was 19 by Owens against Maryland on Sept. 3, 2005.
o Reggie Campbell posted 47 yards on three receptions, both career highs ... his previous highs were one reception multiple times and 30 yards vs. Tulsa (Sept. 18, 2004).
o Navy sacked Air Force quarterback Shaun Carney three times, including twice by junior linebacker David Mahoney.
o Junior defensive end John Chan owned 12-career tackles, including 10 this season, heading into today's contest ... he produced a career-high 10 tackles against the Falcons.
o Junior nose guard Larry Cylc owned eight-career tackles prior to today's game and tallied a career-best seven tackles against Air Force.
o Freshman Karlos Whittaker turned in 66 yards on three kick-off returns, including a career-long of 30 yards.
o Freshman Rashawn King (CB) and sophomore Dell Robinson (SS) made their first-career starts in today's contest against Air Force ... King turned in four tackles, including two solos, while Robinson owned one tackle.
