HONOLULU, Hawai'i -- Navy sophomore Charlotte Hill (Miami, Fla.) earned a fourth-place finish at the ICSA Women's Singlehanded national championships held over the weekend in Honolulu, Hawai'i. Hill was the top Middle Atlantic representative as she bested the other ladies who qualified ahead of her several weeks earlier at Navy.
Going into the final day of the championship, Charlotte was solidly in fifth place with sixth and seventh close behind. The day started with light to variable racing conditions and Charlotte extended her lead on the two competitors behind her. Charlotte maintained her focus and achieved consistent top finishes to move her up to fourth, narrowly missing the third-place finish by three points.
Yale Senior Molly Carapiet had a solid final day to pass Friday's fleet leader Paige Railey of South Florida to take the top spot for the Jane Ludtz Trophy.
