Skipper Gary Grimes with crew Kevin McGill and Ian Gill came close to qualifying for Sloop Nationals. They were two points out of qualifying going into the last race. They were also tied with Hobart and two points down on St. Mary's. The Midshipman sailed well, but just not well enough and just missed a trip to Charleston for ICSA Sloop Nationals. Navy finished fourth out of ten.

Also last weekend, an all-freshman team sailed at Old Dominion University for the MAISA open and had a great weekend, winning the event by besting 12 other schools.

Navy was also competing with the younger members of its Women's team at The Stu Nelson trophy where it were ninth out of 16 teams.

The Midshipmen also were fifth out of 17 teams at the Kings Point Dinghy Open.
