Navy Game Notes
• Navy improved to 7-3 on the year with its 49-21 victory over Eastern Michigan on Saturday afternoon ... the Midshipmen upped their record to 33-14 over the last-four seasons.
• Navy's 49 points are a season high and the most since its 51-30 Poinsettia Bowl victory over Colorado State last year.
• Navy remains perfect on the road this season with a 5-0 record ... in its five road contests, the Midshipmen have scored 189 points, an average of 37.8 points per game.
• The Midshipmen have won both meetings with Eastern Michigan in series history ... Navy defeated the Eagles, 39-7, in Annapolis during the 2003 season ... Saturday's game in Michigan was Navy's first since taking on the Michigan Wolverines in 1981.
• The Mids improved to 26-2 under head coach Paul Johnson when leading at halftime ... Navy is 5-0 when taking a lead into the half this year and have won 10-straight contests when holding a halftime advantage.
• Navy is 32-3 under head coach Paul Johnson when leading after three quarters ... the Mids are 7-0 this season when taking a lead into the fourth quarter ... Navy has come away victorious in 12-consecutive contests when having the lead after the first-45 minutes of play.
• Navy has won 17 of its last 18 games when scoring first.
• Saturday's game against Eastern Michigan at Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions, was the second of four contests in which Navy plays in an NFL stadium ... the Midshipmen took on Notre Dame at M&T Bank Stadium (Baltimore Ravens) on Oct. 28, and will play Army at Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia Eagles) on Dec. 2, and in Bank of America Stadium (Carolina Panthers) for the Meineke Car Care Bowl on Dec. 30.
• Quarterback Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada ran for four touchdowns in Saturday's game, tying for the second-most rushing touchdowns in school history ... he joins Gerry Goodwin (vs. Virginia, 1975) and Eddie Meyers (vs. Syracuse, 1981) as those tied for second in program history ... the four rushing touchdowns are the most by a Navy rusher since Craig Candeto's school-record six rushing touchdowns against Army in 2002.
• Quarterback Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada's 24 points scored on his four touchdowns tie him fourth-highest total in school history ... his 24 points are tied with Joe Bellino (vs. Virginia, 1960), Gerry Goodwin (vs. Virginia, 1975), Eddie Meyers (vs. Syracuse, 1981) and Chuck Smith (vs. Lehigh, 1986) ... the program record for points scored in a game is Bill Ingram's 38 points against Villanova in 1917.
• Quarterback Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada's has rushed for a touchdown in three-straight games ... 18 of Navy's 30 rushing touchdowns have been produced from the quarterback position (Brian Hampton - 10, Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada - 8).
• Quarterback Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada threw for 151 yards on 7-of-9 passing with two touchdowns ... the 151 yards are the most by a Navy quarterback since Lamar Owens passed for 169 yards in a win over Kent State ... he completed his first-five passes of the game, accumulating 99 yards and a touchdown.
• Quarterback Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada's two passing touchdowns on Saturday are the most by a Navy passer this season and the first multi-touchdown passing performance since Lamar Owens threw two touchdown strikes in Navy's Poinsettia Bowl victory over Colorado State last year.
• Quarterback Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada's 50-yard pass to Reggie Campbell in the first quarter represented his career-longest completion ... Campbell's catch put him over the career 500-yard receiving mark.
• Navy's defense held the opposition scoreless on its opening drive for the seventh time this year, first time in the last-three games, as Eastern Michigan was forced to punt.
• Navy scored a touchdown on its first possession of the game for the fifth time in 2006, going 85 yards on nine plays ... the Mids also scored a touchdown on its game-opening drive at Duke last week, traveling 72 yards on 11 plays ... it's the second time Navy has scored touchdowns on its opening drive in back-to-back games since the first two games of the year against East Carolina and UMass.
• Navy has scored a touchdown using a drive of 80 yards or more 10 times this year after touchdown drives of 85 and 88 yards on Saturday.
• The Midshipmen have scored 15 times when using 10-plus plays on a drive following their touchdown-scoring drives of 11 and 10 plays.
• Navy scored 14 points in the opening quarter for the second-straight game ... on the year, the Midshipmen have outscored the opposition, 66-30, during the opening-15 minutes of play.
• Navy's 88-yard touchdown scoring drive in the second quarter is the second-longest by the Midshipmen this year ... Navy went 93 yards on a touchdown-scoring drive against East Carolina on Sept. 2.
• Navy has scored 52 points and gained 557 yards in the opening half combined during the last-two weeks ... the Midshipmen scored 24 points and racked up 275 yards against Duke last week before today's 28-point, 282-yard effort in the first half.
• Navy's 28 points scored in the opening half are a season high and the most points tallied in the first-30 minutes of play since a 35-point performance against Tulane last year during the first half.
• The Midshipmen scored on their opening drive of the second half for the 16th time in the last-21 games ... of those 16 second half-opening scores, 13 have been touchdowns.
• Navy scored touchdowns on all six of its trips into the red zone on Saturday ... the Mids have tallied points in 33 of their 43 trips into the red zone on the year, 26 of which are touchdowns.
• As a team, the Mids ran for 323 yards on 56 carries with five touchdowns ... Navy has won each of its last-24 games when rushing for more than 300 yards ... Navy's last loss when churning out more than 300 yards on the ground came against Rutgers in 2003.
• Navy was successful in its lone fourth-down attempt on Saturday, a one-yard touchdown pass from Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada to Jason Tomlinson ... for the year, the Midshipmen are 10-of-15 (67%) on fourth down.
• Navy scored touchdowns on each of its first-six possessions of the game before losing a fumble in the fourth quarter ... the Midshipmen did not punt for the second-straight game.
• Wide receiver Jason Tomlinson's one-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter was his first of the year.
• Slotback Reggie Campbell caught three passes for a career-high 92 yards on Saturday.
• Safety Jeromy Miles picked off the first pass of his career in the second quarter, bringing it back 28 yards ... the 28-yard interception return was the longest by a Navy player since Ketric Buffin returned an interception 39 yards for a touchdown against Tulane last year.
• Wide receiver Tyree Barnes caught his first touchdown pass of the year with his leaping 29-yard scoring grab in the second quarter.
• Fullback Eric Kettani posted career highs with 91 yards on 14 carries with a touchdown ... his touchdown came on a seven-yard rush during the third quarter, the first of his career ... he became the seventh-different Navy ball-carrier to rush for a touchdown on the year ... entering the game, Kettani had 12 yards on six carries.
• Linebacker Clint Sovie intercepted a pass for the first time in his career during the third quarter, returning the ball 13 yards.
• Linebacker Rob Caldwell led the team with 12 tackles in the game ... he has posted 10-plus tackles in three games this season and 12 times during his career.
