ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Kaleo Kina had 19 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, and Navy surpassed its win total from last season with an 89-69 victory over Lafayette on Saturday.
Corey Johnson also scored 19 for Navy (10-13, 3-7 Patriot League), which sandwiched a 17-0 run around halftime.
Greg Sprink added 15 points, and Matt Fannin scored 12 for the Midshipmen, who reached their highest point total in a league game since 2002 and their largest margin of victory over a conference opponent since 2001.
Andrei Capusan scored 11 points to lead Lafayette (10-13, 4-6). Andrew Brown had 10.
Navy led 38-29 at halftime behind 12 points from Kina. He hit a 3-pointer and put back an offensive rebound as the Midshipmen closed the half with a 9-0 run.
Navy took control with an 8-0 run to start the second half. Sprink ignited the crowd with a steal and breakaway dunk, and David Hooper's 3-pointer put the Mids ahead 51-31 with 16:17 remaining.
Paul Cummins hit consecutive 3-pointers to help Lafayette get within 58-50 midway through the second half, but Navy responded with a 21-4 run over the next four minutes to take a 79-54 lead.
