The Navy IC Sailing won the Navy Spring Women's Intersectional. Charlotte Hill and Maggie Reynolds won the B division at the event. The co-ed team placed 9th at St. Mary's Team Race Intersectional.
The Naval Academy and the Intercollegiate Sailing Team hosted the Navy Spring Women's Spring Intersectional. Fifteen teams competed from four districts around the country in extremely challenging conditions. Saturday morning racing was postponed until 10:30 a.m., when an easterly breeze filled in at 5-7 knots. The breeze built and clocked to the South at 8-10 knots. A brief lunch break was taken when the breeze died. The afternoon gave the sailors 3-5 knots from the South and an adverse current all day. The wind was able to move the boats, but the surface of the water looked untouched. It was a challenge for all the sailors to take advantage of the conditions. Seven Modified Windward-Leeward's were completed. The Navy team finished the day in third place overall, with College of Charleston well in the lead. Sunday the sailors saw similar conditions to the previous day. Four more races were completed in 6-8 knots from the SSW with an adverse current before the breeze died. The Navy women's team sailed very well, at one point moving into a 17-point lead over the competition. In the end, Navy won one of the biggest women's intersectional regattas of the season, where most of the top 20 teams were present. Katie Whitman with Trisha Kutkiewicz (races 1-4) and Andrea White (races 5-11) finished third in the A division. Charlotte Hill with Maggie Reynolds won the B division with 42 points.
The co-ed team competed in the St. Mary's Team Race Intersectional under similar conditions the women saw in Annapolis. The format was for two round-robins to be completed and then a final four Round and a consolation round. The light and variable wind made the intended format impossible to finish. Saturday, 54 races were completed. Sunday they finished the first round and half of the second round robin before the breeze died completely. Navy finished round one in ninth, with two wins and seven losses. In the second round, Navy had three wins and one loss, but the results were dropped. John Keith, Gary Grimes, Andrew Vann, Lauren Sutehall, Kristen Sproat and Krysta Anthony sailed for Navy in the three-boat team-racing format.
