WEST POINT, N.Y. - Navy gymnast Dylan Parrott (So./Rockwell, N.C.) finished among the top-three competitors in two disciplines to highlight the team's performance at the West Point Open individual event finals on Saturday night in Christl Arena.
Parrott delivered a 14.75-point routine in the floor exercise to finish only behind Sean Senters's 14.8-point title-winning showing for Parkettes. The Navy sophomore placed third on the high bar with a 13.65-point routine, as World Cup's Jon Orozco won the event with a 14.6 and Penn State's Casey Sandy landed second with a 14.05.
Parrott was joined by teammate Trey James (Sr./Matthews, N.C.) in the event finals on Saturday night. James finished eighth on the pommel horse with an 11.75-point performance.
The Midshipmen (4-1) will return to action next Saturday when they play host to the Navy Open. The Mids will welcome No. 13 Air Force, No. 11 Temple, Springfield, No. 14 William & Mary and several local junior teams into Macdonough Hall, starting at 3 p.m.
