2009 NCAA Frozen Four

National Championship Game

• This is the first NCAA national championship in any sport t be decided within the District of Columbia.
• This is the 13th National Championship game t be decided in overtime: 1954 (time of goal: 1:34); '59 (4:18); '77 (0:23); '84 (7:11-4OT); '88 (4:46); '89 (4:16); '91 (1:57-3OT); '96 (3:35); '98 (17:51); '99 (10:50); 2001 (4:43); '02 (16:58); '09 (11:47).
• Miami University is now 0-2-5 in overtime games this season.
• Now in its 31st season as a program, this is Miami University's first trip t the Frozen Four.
• This is the first time any team at Miami University has competed in a national final (or semifinal) contest.
• Miami University is playing in its seventh NCAA Tournament. The RedHawks have now posted a 5-7 record in NCAA Tournament games.

• Miami University entered tonight's game 1-of-15 on the power play during the NCAA Tournament. The RedHawks were 0-of-7 on the power play tonight.
• Miami University entered tonight's game successfully killing 15-of-17 penalties during the NCAA Tournament. The RedHawks killed 2-of-2 penalties tonight.
• Miami University entered tonight's game outscoring its opponents 10-4 in its three previous NCAA Tournament games.

• Andy's Miele's second-period assist was his second at the Frozen Four and gives him at least one point in six of the last eight games (4-4=8).
• Tommy Wingels' third-period goal was his third goal and fourth point of the Frozen Four. He entered the Frozen Four having not scored a goal in 10 consecutive games. He has scored 11 goals this year.
• Miami University is now 6-2-1 this season (and 18-3-1 in his career) when Wingels scores a goal. The RedHawks are 11-3-1 this season (and 28-5-1 in his career) when Wingels scores a point.
• Trent Vogelhuber's third-period goal was his second goal of the season and first in a span of 16 games. His most recent goal was Jan. 10 vs. Michigan.
• Goaltender Cody Reichert has now allowed 8 goals and made 93 saves during the NCAA Tournament.
