Boston University Post Game Notes

• This is Boston University's 21 appearance in the semifinal round of the NCAA Tournament. This is the first Frozen Four appearance for the Terriers since 1997 (L in the finals).

• The Terriers are 10-11 in the semifinal round of the NCAA Tournament and 37-32 in all rounds of the NCAA Tournament (31 appearances). BU is 4-5 in previous national championship games.

• Boston University entered the Frozen Four 2-of-8 on the power play during the NCAA Tournament. The Terriers were 1-of-3 on the power play tonight.

• Boston University entered the Frozen Four successfully killing 10-of-11 penalties during the NCAA Tournament. The Terriers were 5-of-7 in penalty kills tonight. Opponents had scored just one power play goal on the Terriers in their last 27 chances entering tonight's game.

• Boston University has outscored opponents 15-8 during the 2009 NCAA Tournament.

• Boston University has posted a 20-1-3 record since Jan. 16.

• Boston University has outscored its opponents 25-12 during its current six-game winning streak.

• Colin Wilson (2-1=3) has recorded multi-point games in two of his last three games and in 18 games this season. Wilson has now recorded five multi-goal games this year, with the last coming Feb. 13 vs. Maine (three goals).

• Wilson has recorded 12 points (6-6=12) in seven career games vs. Vermont.

• Chris Higgins (1-3=4) has recorded multi-point games in two of his last three games and in 12 games this season. His three assists and four points ties a career high for both statistics.

• Chris Higgins has tallied 21 points (11-10=21) in 17 career games vs. Vermont.

• Kiernan Milan has now allowed 8 goals and made 72 saves during the NCAA Tournament (23 saves tonight). During his five-game winning streak has now allowed 12 goals and made 148 saves.

• Vermont scored three goals in the second period. The only other time BU allowed three goals in a period this year was to Maine in the first period of Maine's 6-3 win over the Terriers March 14, 2009. In contrast, the Terriers scored three or more goals in a period 21 times this year.

• Nick Bonino tallied an assist in the second period. The Terriers are now 23-0-3 this season when he records at least one point in a game.

• Sophomore Vinny Saponari's second-period goal was his first of his career and the second point of his career (13 games).

• BU is now 16-0-2 over its last 18 games away from home.

• BU has scored five or more goals in a game 17 times this season.
