WEST POINT, N.Y. - Navy gymnast Dylan Parrott (Jr./Rockwell, N.C.) boasted the best score on the high bar to highlight the team's performance at the West Point Open individual event finals on Saturday night at Christl Arena.
Parrott, who led all gymnasts during the team and all-around competition on the high bar yesterday with 14.15 points, registered an impressive 14.7-point routine to finish 0.3-point ahead of second-place gymnast Matt Greenfield from Penn State. Parrott became the first Navy competitor to win an event final at the West Point Open since Adam Stanton topped the field on the pommel horse two years ago.
The Navy junior also competed on the parallel bars, where he earned a 12.85-point score from the judges for eighth place.
Andrew Faulk (So./San Antonio, Texas) delivered a pair of fourth-place performances on Saturday after placing fourth in the all-around yesterday evening.
