ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy women's soccer team is set for a big Patriot League weekend with two league games at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility. The Mids will host first-place Lehigh on Friday night at 7 pm before taking on Lafayette on Sunday. Navy is currently tied for fourth place in the league with six points, three points behind Lehigh. Navy fell to Bucknell fell last Saturday in its only game of the week.

Moving Weekend in the Patriot League
With all eight teams set for two league games each this weekend, there is bound to be some movement in the Patriot League standings. Following Sunday's full slate of action, each team will only have one more league game, next Friday or Saturday (Navy will host American next Friday). The top four teams will advance to the postseason tournament, which will be hosted by the regular season champion. Lehigh and Bucknell each have nine points currently (with Lehigh holding the tiebreaker from a 2-1 win over the Bison). Army is in third with eight points and has yet to allow a goal in league play. Navy and Colgate are tied for fourth place with six points each.

"We've been fine-tuning our attack this week. We are looking to get more numbers forward, move the ball quicker and generate some more scoring opportunities. Lehigh is having a very successful year. They are very good technical team and a good ball possession team. We are looking forward to taking on a good team at home."

Navy is 7-3 over its last 10 games and have outscored opponents during that span, 24-7 ... freshman Ashlynn Soellner leads the team with six goals, 15 points and four game-winners ... Soellner ranks third in the PL in points during league play with five (2g 1a) ... senior Carissa Youker ranks second on the team with 14 points (5g, 4a) ... freshman Paloma Perez has five goals and 13 points ... Scouting Lehigh
Lehigh enters Friday's game in first place in the Patriot League with a 3-1-0 mark and ranked ninth in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Poll. The Mountain Hawks defeated Colgate, Bucknell and Holy Cross, all at home. The Mountain Hawk's only league loss came at Army in overtime, 1-0. Lehigh's offensive production comes from seniors Liz Carlos (5-2-12), Glynn Fitzer (3-6-12), Natalie Hojnacki (4-3-11) and freshman Murphee Greely (3-4-10). Lehigh's Genna Pepe is the current PL Defender of the Week and Paige Dyrek is the rookie of the week. The game will feature the league's top-two scoring offenses, as Lehigh averages 2.31 goals per game and Navy is second at a 1.94 goals per game clip. Last season, Navy defeated Lehigh, 2-1. Carissa Youker and Christine Calderon each scored for the Mids. Navy's defense has only allowed one goal to Lehigh in its last five meetings.

Scouting Lafayette
Lafayette enters the weekend at 6-7-2 overall and 0-2-2 in league play. The Leopards will play at American on Friday night. Lafayette hasn't won a Patriot League game since Oct. 27, 2006. Lafayette defeated Navy in the Mids' inaugural season in 1993, but hasn't won since. Navy enters the meeting on a 17-game winning streak of the Leopards. Over the last four seasons, Navy has outscored Lafayette 15-0 and is 4-0-0. Navy beat Lafayette 4-0 last season in Easton, behind goals from current Mids Kelsey Learned and Christine Calderon.

Navy Holds a .836 Winning Percentage at Glenn Warner
Beginning with the inaugural season at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility in 2001, Navy has posted an 86-14-7 (.836) all-time record at their home field. Navy is also 8-1-2 (.818) in Patriot League contests at the GWSF over the past four seasons.

Navy's final game of the 2010 regular season will be at home on Friday, Oct. 29 vs. American at 7 pm. Prior to the game, Navy will honor the six seniors of the Class of 2011. Should Navy finish in the top four of the Patriot League, the team will play in the league semifinals on Friday, Nov. 5.
