ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy women's soccer team participated in yet another community service event this offseason. Last week, members of the team volunteered at a soccer clinic held at the Boys & Girls Club of Annapolis. The team ran a series of drills, set up a scrimmage and gave advice to the clinic attendees.
Participating members of the team were senior Katie Kelly, freshman Ashlynn Soellner, freshman Hannah Morse and Navy women's lacrosse player and former high school soccer standout Katrina Nietsch.
"It was neat seeing the kids have fun and watching their curiosity grow," said Kelly. "At the end we talked with the kids about finding something you love and having a passion about it. We also talked to them about the unexpected opportunities and experiences we have been given through working hard at our sport."
The women's soccer team also participated in a youth soccer clinic at the Excel Academy in Washington, D.C. last month.
