WEST POINT, N.Y. - Navy gymnast Dylan Parrott (Jr./Rockwell, N.C.) earned a spot in the NCAA Championship on the high bar during the NCAA Qualifying Meet on Thursday night in Christl Arena.
Parrott, who came into the meet ranked fifth nationally on the high bar, placed 11th with a score of 14.3 points to move onto the national championship. He also finished 24th on the vault (15.4 points), 25th on the parallel bars (13.95 points) and 35th on the floor exercise (13.45 points).
Navy's Andrew Faulk (So./San Antonio, Texas) also competed on Thursday night, as he tallied 82.25 points in the all-around to land in eighth place. His best performance came on the vault, where he earned a score of 15.65 points from the judges for 18th place. In addition, he placed among the top-30 performers on the still rings (27th, 13.85 points) and parallel bars (29th, 13.6 points).
Parrott will compete in the NCAA Championship prelims tonight at 7 p.m., with the top-10 gymnasts in each event advancing to the individual event finals in search of All-America accolades on Saturday at 7 p.m.
