ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Navy cross country senior Andrew Hanko was named Patriot League Runner of the Week it was announced by the conference office on Monday. Hanko won the individual title at the Navy Invitational on Saturday as he topped the field of 89 runners with a time of 23:55. As a team, the Midshipmen took first place in the nine-team invite.
The honor is the second in as many weeks for Hanko, whose seven career Patriot League Runner of the Week awards is the most of by any cross country student-athlete in conference history.
Last week, Hanko took second place at Harry Groves Invitational, a meet that featured some of the NCAA Mid-Atlantic region's best teams.
The Mids travel to Minnesota this weekend for the Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday.
