The Navy men's squad enters this season's event as the two-time defending team champion. The Mids totaled 673.5 points a year ago to outdistance second-place Harvard and the remainder of the 21-team field by 143 points.
"The ECAC meet will be a challenging one, especially with the number of teams and athletes who will contend this weekend," said Navy men's swimming head coach Bill Roberts. "We are ready and look forward to returning to the University of Pittsburgh to race and compete this weekend."
The Navy's women's team finished in sixth place in last year's 24-team ECAC field. The Mids, who sent only a partial team to the 2010 championship, accrued 227 points at the meet.
"Pittsburgh always puts on a great meet and the competition at the event improves every year," said Navy women's swimming head coach John Morrison. "We are looking forward to competing alongside a number programs from our region of the country. Our goal for this meet each season is to improve upon our team finish from the previous year."
Harvard, Marist, Columbia, Army, Rider and Boston University are among the schools that have entered teams in this weekend's meet.
