Results Princeton, N.J. - The Navy men's outdoor track and field team (3-1) scored 24 points to finish in a tie for 13th place at the IC4A Championship at Princeton's Weaver Stadium this weekend. Navy wrapped up Sunday's competition with a top-eight showing in the 4x800m relay and the 1,500m run. Duke won the men's team championship with 74.5 points.
Junior Dominic Della Pelle posted a personal record time of 3:48.92 to earn IC4A All-East honors in the 1,500m run with an eight-place finish. Della Pelle ran seven seconds faster in the finals than he did in yesterday's trials.
Navy's 4x800m relay team of Lucas Connelly, David Ash, Della Pelle, and George Stevenson took fourth place with a season-best time of 7:27.55. The time is the second-fastest time in school history in the outdoor season. The relay squad improved on their trials performance, as the Mids entered with the seventh-best qualifying time (7:30.46).
Junior Chris Boniwell placed 29th in the shot put with a mark of 49-4¼. Junior Joshua Houston competed in the high jump, but did not clear his opening height.
Navy will next send its qualified athletes to the NCAA East Regional at Indiana in two weeks.
