ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Navy men's track and field distance runner
Justin Mumford has been named the Naval Academy Athletic Association Athlete of the Week. Mumford helped the Midshipmen secure their 12
th-consecutive Patriot League Outdoor Championship last weekend.
Mumford won the 10,000-meter race for the second time in his career, setting a league and facility record with a time of 29:26.91.
The New Baden, Ill., native claimed his second title of the weekend by winning the 5,000-meter race in 14:33.15.
Navy will continue its postseason run May 27-29 when it travels to Lexington, Ky., to compete in the NCAA First Round.
