WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - No. 12 William & Mary downed the Navy gymnastics team, 417.05-401.65, on Saturday night in Williamsburg, Va. The Tribe led the meet from beginning to end, topping the Midshipmen in all six events. William & Mary scored a 69.9 on the floor, 69.5 on the pommel horse, 70.1 on the rings, 72.9 on the vault, 68.85 on the parallel bars and a 65.8 on the high bar. Navy posted a 68.05 in the floor exercise, 65.2 on the pommel horse, 68.7 on the rings, 70.65 on the vault, 63.8 on the parallel bars and 65.25 on the high bar.

Thomas Goodell led Navy in the rings, posting a season-high score of 14.45, which was good for second place in the event. In the high bar, a pair of rookies in Eric Poletti and Andrew Potts both scored a 13.85 to tie for second place in the event. Goodell's 13.55 was the fourth-best score of the evening in the event.

Potts competed in three events on Saturday night, including the parallel bars for the first time in his career. He led Navy in the event with a score of 13.15.

Another freshman, Connor Westrick, also competed in an event for the first time this season, posting a 10.75 in the high bar.

William & Mary's Daniel Potemski won the all-around with a score of 85.65. Teammate Keaton Ackerman followed with an 80.8 and Navy junior Chris Junghans placed third with a 78.95.

Navy (0-4) will return to action next Saturday in Philadelphia, Pa., when it faces Temple and Army.
