ECAC All-Star Teams
CENTERVILLE, Mass. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its 2013 Division I Women's Soccer All-Star teams and three members of the U.S. Naval Academy women's soccer program have been honored.
Junior defender Jade Seabrook, junior forward Morgan Dankanich and senior goalkeeper Elizabeth Hoerner were tabbed as ECAC All-Star Second Team members.
Dankanich had a stellar season on the offensive end, recording 31 points on 14 goals and three assists. Her 14 goals were tied-for 37th best in the nation and led all Patriot League goal-scorers. She was named as a NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic First Team member and the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year
On the defensive side, Seabrook and Hoerner anchored a Navy backline that was one of the stingiest in program history. Navy's .566 goals-against average was 12th best in the nation. The defensive duo allowed the third-lowest goals (12) and tallied third-highest shutout total (14) at Navy.
Seabrook continued to place herself as one of Navy's best defenders in program history. The junior defender was selected as a Third Team All-American for the second straight season and the only Mid in program history to be named an All-American. Seabrook was named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year and also to the all-league first team for the second straight season.
Hoerner was named the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year for the second year in a row and was also a First Team NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic member.
As a team, Navy was honored with 2013 NSCAA College Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Silver Award for the second straight season. The silver award is given to a team that did not receive a red card and accumulate no more than five yellow cards during the season. The Mids were only called for two yellow cards all season.
In all, 256 teams received either the Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the College Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award, which recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.
Navy (16-5) won the Patriot League Regular Season Championship (8-1) and the team advanced to the league title game for the third-consecutive season.
