Men's Soccer to Play at Colgate on Saturday

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy men's soccer team (6-4-2, 2-1 PL) will play at Colgate (4-5-1, 1-2 PL) on Saturday at 4:00 PM at the Beyer-Small '76 Field. Free live video and live statistics will be available.

Navy is coming off a 2-0 win over #20 American on Wednesday. Senior Grant Valenstein scored in the 77th minute and senior Geoff Fries added an insurance goal in the 89th minute. Junior Jackson Morgan made five saves to earn the shutout in goal.

Including the win over American, Navy is 2-0-1 against Top 25 opponents this season. Navy also defeated then-#10 Maryland, 2-1, on September 8 and drew with then-No. 20 George Mason, 1-1, on September 30.

Navy has won back-to-back Patriot League contests, as the Mids shutout Lafayette, 1-0, last Saturday, before the 2-0 win over American.

Junior forward Jamie Dubyoski had an assist in Navy's win over American and he leads the team with 12 points on four goals and four assists. Junior Thomas Shiiba is second on the team with nine points on three goals and three assists. Junior Derek Vogel has seven points on one goal and five assists. Sophomore Daniel Camuti, Fries and Valenstein each have six points.

Morgan is 5-3-2 with a 0.80 goals-against average, a .800 save percentage and three shutouts.

Navy has outscored its opponents, 20-11, and has outshot its opponents, 217-129.

Navy earned a 3-0 win over Colgate last season in Annapolis. Nick Dubee scored in just the fourth minute and Joseph Greenspan and Dubyoski added goals later in the game.

Colgate enters Saturday's contest at 1-2 in the Patriot League. The Raiders defeated Lafayette, 2-1, in double overtime in its league opener, but fell to Loyola (1-0) and Army (2-1).

Sophomore Ethan Kutler leads the Patriot League with 10 goals and 22 points. Kutler is third in the nation in total goals and fourth in points. Kutler has scored 10 of Colgate's 13 goals this season.

Kutler scored in each of Colgate's first four games of the season and he had two goals in a 3-1 win over Fairleigh Dickinson and a hat trick in a 3-1 win over Siena.

Colgate goalkeeper Ricky Brown is 4-5-1 with a 1.32 goals-against average and a .725 save percentage.

Navy will next host Bucknell on Saturday, October 18 at 7:00 PM in Annapolis.
