Oct. 14, 2014 CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Navy women's soccer senior defender Jade Seabrook (St. Paris, Ohio) and freshman forward Clare MacAdam (Palmyra, N.J.) were named Patriot League Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.
Navy went 2-0 this past week, defeating Bucknell, 3-0 on Friday and then finished with a win at Penn, 2-1 on Sunday.
Seabrook anchored Navy's backline for all 180 minutes, holding both Bucknell and Penn to nine shots on net. The senior defender held Bucknell's leading scorer Kendall Ham, who has five goals and two assists on the season, to just two shots. Seabrook then held Penn's leading scorer Ana Chevtchenko, who has two goals, to no shots in 90 minutes.
MacAdam recorded her best match of her young career, tallying four points on two goals against Bucknell. Her goal in the 18th minute was her second career game winning goal. MacAdam's two-goal performance upped her season total to a team best five goals and is tied for fifth highest in the Patriot League.
Navy will take its unbeaten streak of six games on Friday against Holy Cross at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility at 7 p.m. The match can be seen live for free on PatriotLeague.TV with Joe Miller on the call.
