PRINCETON, N.J. - The Navy women's golf team shot a 986 (334-315-337) to place 12th at the 54-hole Princeton Invitational at the par-72, 6,128-yard Springdale Golf Club this weekend in tough weather conditions.

Yale won the team title with a total of 896 (294-297-305) at the 12-team event. Rollins was second at 907 and Columbia was third at 908. Yale's Marika Liu won the individual title with a three-round score of 219 (75-72-72; +3).

Freshman Christine Walker paced Navy with a 243 (86-76-81; +27) to finish 49th out 69 golfers in the field. Junior Renata Bucher tied for 53rd place with an overall score of 245 (81-79-85; +29) and freshman Emily Laskin was one shot back with a 246 (82-79-85; +30) to place 55th.

Freshman Legare Augenstein placed 65th with a 254 (87-81-86; +38) and freshman Jane Moon was 67th with a 259 (85-85-89; +43).

Navy's 315 in the second round on Saturday matched its program low. Contributing to the 315 was a 4-over par 76 from Walker, 79s from Bucher and Laskin and an 81 from Augenstein.

"The high winds and cold weather proved to be a tough challenge for us this weekend," head coach Nadia Ste-Marie said.

Navy will close its fall tournament season at the Delaware Invitational at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club from October 25-26.
