ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Fresh off her second-straight first-place finish, Navy women's golf senior Emma Tang was named the Patriot League Women's Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
 
After tying for first place and helping Navy win the team title at Lehigh's Autumn Harvest to start the week, Tang turned around to shoot a 2-under par 142 at the Navy Fall Invitational and lead the Midshipmen to a share of first place in their lone home tournament of the season.
 
Following her record-breaking 1-over par 214 outing at the Autumn Harvest that helped Navy also break the program records for a team round (by total strokes) and 54-hole team score, Tang captured the Navy Fall Invite's individual crown for the second time in three years. Opening play with a 4-under par 68 on Saturday that tied for second all-time in program and course history, she then finished the event with a 2-over par 74 in the final round to post a 2-under par 142 for the weekend, beating runner-up Paris Fieldings of Howard by five strokes.
 
Tang's 142 total strokes also tied her own 2024 Navy Fall Invitational-winning mark to rank second in program history for 36-hole scores.
 
This marks the seventh time Tang has picked up the league's Golfer of the Week award in her career, as the three-time All-Patriot League First Teamer and back-to-back Women's Golfer of the Year claimed weekly honors twice last season.
 
Navy will close the fall season on Oct. 19-20 with the Spider Invitational in Richmond, Va.
