ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Setting three program records and matching another over a historic two-day 54-hole tournament, the Navy women's golf team posted its first win of the season with a first-place finish Tuesday at the Autumn Harvest event in Lopatcong, N.J.
Shooting two of its best rounds in program history while putting two players atop the leaderboard and seeing another player hit a hole-in-one, the Midshipmen sat in the lead after Monday's first two rounds and then used a program-record round on Tuesday to hold off surging host Lehigh at the par-71, 6,111-yard Architects Golf Club.
Navy notched a 7-over par 291 opening round to jump to the top of the pack and followed it Monday afternoon by matching the total-strokes program record with a 3-over par 287 outing to keep ahead of Lehigh after the Mountain Hawks' own program-record round. The Mids then sealed the team title on Tuesday by carding a 1-over par 285 that broke the total-strokes program record and tied the school-record round in relation to par, helping Navy set another program record (by total strokes) with a 54-hole team score of 11-over par 863 while beating out runner-up Lehigh (869=298-283-288).

Improving upon a 4-over par 75 opening round, Cressman shot a 1-over par 72 in the second round to push herself back into contention, while her hole-in-one on the sixth hole Tuesday propelled her to a career-low round of 3-under par 68.
