ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Navy women's soccer senior Lily Kraemer garnered Disney Soccer/NSCAA Player of the Week honors, announced by the soccer website Monday.
The Disney Soccer/NSCAA Players of the Week are announced every Tuesday throughout the fall college season on NSCAATV.com. In 2013 and continued in 2014, the program was expanded to include a men's and women's winner from all three NCAA divisions.
Senior forward Lily Kraemer provided a big spark for Navy off the bench and led Navy to a 2-0 record from Sept. 22 to Sept. 26. Kraemer recorded three goals in a span of five days, two of which were game winners.
Kraemer began the week with a career-best two-goal game against Mount St. Mary's en route to a 3-0 win. She recorded the eventual game winner in the 32nd minute. The senior forward then tallied the first goal of the contest against Lafayette in the 40th minute, which resulted as the game-winning goal in a 4-0 rout to earn Navy its first Patriot League win in 2014.
Kraemer was also named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week. Kraemer's teammate Jade Seabrook garnered the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week as well. Seabrook not only helped Navy's backline tally two shut outs but recorded her second goal of the season against Lafayette.
The Navy women's soccer team (5-3-3, 1-1 Patriot League) will host American on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
