Oct. 12, 2015 CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Navy women's soccer senior Lexi Ricketts (The Woodlands, Texas) and junior Dayton Wetherby (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) earned Corvias Patriot League Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week laurels, which was announced by the league office on Monday.
Ricketts garnered her second consecutive defensive player of the week honor. The senior defender continued to anchor a Navy backline as she held Kendall Ham, Bucknell's top offensive option with 17 points on eight goals and one assist coming into the match, to just five shots and one shot on net.
Wetherby garnered her first career Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week honor, recording a game-high seven saves in Navy's 0-0 draw with Bucknell. She tallied her third consecutive clean sheet to extend her scoreless streak to 332:55 minutes. All three shutouts have come against league opponents (Lehigh, Holy Cross and Bucknell) and lowered her goals-against average from 1.43 to 1.29.
Unbeaten in its last eight matches, Navy will host Colgate on Saturday at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility. The match will kick off at 1 p.m. with live statistics available on navysports.com.
