ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy swimming and diving teams will play host to a trio of Patriot League programs Saturday in Lejeune Hall. The Mids will face American, Bucknell and Lafayette starting at noon in the facility.

Fans attending Saturday's meet are reminded that no one without a Department of Defense identification card is allowed to drive their vehicle onto the USNA grounds. Everyone else must park outside of the USNA and walk through the gate one visitors entrance. Shuttle bus service to and from the meet will not available.

Both Navy teams have posted 4-0 records this season as the Mids have swept their meets against George Mason, Old Dominion, East Carolina and UMBC. Additionally, Navy's men's team had a strong performance during a recent non-scored meet against Princeton. The times attained by the Mids against the Tigers have vaulted Navy into 24th place in this week's CollegeSwimming.com national ranking and into a tie for 25th in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America ranking.

Additionally, the men's team ranks first in the CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major poll while the Navy women rank 12th in its mid-major tabulation.

"The team has been putting in the work this season," said Navy men's swimming head coach Bill Roberts, "especially the past two weeks. This weekend will be a good chance to compete with the aim to improve."

"This is a great meet to gain exposure to and compete against some of our fellow Patriot League teams," said Navy women's swimming head coach John Morrison. "It will be nice to get racing again after three very tough weeks of training. Our goal is to see some improvements in the details that we have been working on the last three weeks. Bucknell, Lafayette and American look to be strong and are well coached, so we will have to put together a very strong effort to stay with them."

Saturday's meet will be the first dual meet competition of the season for American, while the men's and women's teams from both Bucknell and Lafayette all enter the meet with 0-2 records. The Bison suffered their losses to Pittsbugh and Boston U. and the Leopards were swept by both Loyola and Drexel.

These same four teams met one year ago in Lewisburg, Pa., with the two Navy squads recording wins against their respective foes that day. Navy's men's team defeated American by the score of 217-66, Bucknell by the count of 168-127 and Lafayette by the score of 218-77. In the women's meet, the Mids won a 237-63 decision over the Eagles, beat the Bison 163-136 and posted a 245-53 victory over the Leopards.

Navy placed first in the 2016 pre-season poll of the league's coaches and sports information contacts. The women's voting saw Bucknell finish second to the Mids, American place eighth and Lafayette place ninth, while the men's balloting had Bucknell in fourth place, Lafayette in eighth and American in ninth.
