Dec. 4, 2015 KANSAS CITY Kan. - Navy women's soccer senior Lexi Ricketts (The Woodlands, Texas) earned First Team National Soccer Coaches of America (NSCAA) All-Mid-Atlantic honors, which was announced on Thursday. Ricketts became the sixth different Navy women's soccer player to garner first team all-region laurels.
Ricketts, who was an integral part to Navy's defense and team captain, saw the most minutes of any Midshipmen and in her career, tallying 1991 minutes out of a possible 2060. She anchored a Navy backline that produced seven shutouts and held 15 opponents to 15 shots or less.
Ricketts also had her best offensive showing of her career in 2015, posting career highs in points (8) and goals (4). The Woodlands, Texas, native scored the first equalizer against Army West Point in the 48th minute, which ended in a 2-2 tie after 110 minutes. Ricketts also scored the first goal versus VMI in the 45 minute en route to a 2-1 Navy win.
Navy has now produced at least one all-region athlete in the past five seasons.
Navy finished the 2015 season with an 11-7-4 overall mark and made its fifth-straight Patriot League Tournament appearance. The Midshipmen ended league play with a 3-2-4 mark and third overall.
