Visser Joins Men's Soccer Program as Assistant Coach

March 11, 2015

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Navy head men's soccer coach Dave Brandt has announced Dan Visser will join the Navy coaching staff as assistant coach. Visser arrives at Navy after two seasons as head coach of Eastern Nazarene College in Massachusetts.

"We're genuinely excited to add Dan to the Navy men's soccer staff," said Brandt. "As a former player of mine, he is well-schooled in what I want and am looking for on and off the field, and is in his own right a talented emerging young coach. We are lucky to have him and Nate Baker and I are very much looking forward to working together with Dan to continue to make Navy men's soccer a great college soccer program."

"This is a dream opportunity for me and I couldn't be more excited to work with Coach Brandt and Navy men's soccer," said Visser. "The Naval Academy is a special place and Navy men's soccer has become a special place to play college soccer. I'm excited to help build on the success of the last couple seasons and test the limits of what's possible here."

Visser amassed a two-year record of 8-26-1 as the head coach at Division III Eastern Nazarene. The Lions were 3-14-0 in his first season in 2013 and Visser improved the squad's record to 5-12-1 in 2014.

Prior to his time at Eastern Nazarene, Visser spent two seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Division III Eastern University in Pennsylvania. During his two years at Eastern, the Eagles were 21-11-2 and saw 11 student-athletes earn all-conference honors.

Visser is a 2008 graduate of Messiah College, where he played for Brandt. During Visser's four-year career at Messiah, the team won three national championships and had a fourth trip to the NCAA Final Four. The team had an overall record of 89-6-2 (.928) during his four years.

Visser was a two-time team captain and received Regional All-America honors in 2007.

Visser graduated Magna Cum Laude from Messiah with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and economics. Visser earned his master's degree in business administration from Eastern University in 2013.

Visser holds an 'A' License from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and National Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Visser and his wife, Kari, have a son, Coby.
