ANNAPOLIS, Md. â€"â€" Navy's Tom Duvall (Sr., Durham, N.H.) and Joe Kaszubowski (Fr., Whitefish Bay, Wis.) head to Atlanta, Ga., this week to compete in the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championship. Duvall will swim in three events at the meet and Kaszubowski will compete in the platform diving competition.

Georgia Tech's McAuley Aquatics Center â€"â€" the venue for last week's women's national championship as well as the 1996 Olympics â€"â€" is the site for the meet. Links to live results and live video from the event that runs Wednesday night through Saturday evening can be found at NavySports.com. A video stream of the preliminary heats that begin daily at 10 a.m. can be viewed for free, while a stream of the evening sessions (6 p.m.) will be available through WatchESPN.com and the ESPN app.

"We are honored to have two Navy athletes earn their way to the national championship this year," said Navy men's swimming head coach Bill Roberts. "Tom and Joe will both do a terrific job of competing at the highest level while representing the program, the athletic department and the Naval Academy to the best of their potential."

This year marks the sixth time in the last 42 years â€"â€" but the fourth time in the last 13 seasons â€"â€" in which Navy will send both a swimmer and diver to the NCAA Championship. The Mids most recently qualified diver Olaf Olson and swimmers Mark Meyer and Justin Vagts for the 2011 national championship.

Duvall's slate of events begins Thursday with the 500 freestyle. He is seeded 23rd in the event with a qualifying time of 4:17.32. His 200 freestyle event is scheduled for Friday. Duvall's time of 1:35.20 places him 34th in the seeding for the event. He will close the meet Saturday by swimming in the 100 free. Duvall is seeded 60th with a qualifying time of 44.13.

Duvall is the third Mid in the last four decades â€"â€" Mark Heinrich, 1977, '78, '79; Adam Meyer, 2009, '10 â€"â€" to have garnered an invitation to multiple NCAA Championship meets in his career. He earned All-America honors at the 2014 championship with a seventh-place finish in the 500 freestyle and also placed 32nd in the 1650 free at that year's meet.

The top-eight swimmers in the preliminary heats of each event advance to the evening's championship final, with the next eight finishers swimming at night in the event's consolation final.

The platform diving competition will be held Saturday starting at 12:15 p.m. The top-eight finishers out of the nearly 70 that have qualified for the preliminary rounds of the event will dive during the finals that night. Those divers who place ninth through 16th will advance to the consolation final that will start 15 minutes after the conclusion of the preliminary rounds of diving.

Kaszubowski is the 20th Navy diver to qualify for the NCAA Championship and the first to do so since Olson five years ago. He also is the first Navy freshman diver to compete at the national championship since Kevin Teague in 2004.
