LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Navy women's golf team sits in fifth place out of six teams after the opening day of the Patriot League Women's Golf Championship on Saturday at the par-70 Bucknell Golf Club. The championship will conclude with 18 holes on Sunday.
Navy shot a 36-hole score of 632 on the opening day. Navy shot a 317 (+37) in the first round and a 315 (+35) in the second round.
Richmond leads the field with a 609 (+49) and is followed by Lehigh (619), Boston University (620), Bucknell (626), Navy (632) and Holy Cross (693). Boston University's Adela Cejnarova leads the 36-player field with a two-round score of 147 (72-75).
Navy sophomore Christine Walker is tied for sixth place with a two-round score of 155 (78-77; +15).
Senior Renata Bucher and sophomore Jane Moon are tied for 14th place with 36-hole totals of 158 (+18). Bucher fired a 79-79 and Moon shot an 82-76.
Sophomore Kellyanne Hurst sits in 21st place with a 162 (79-83; +22), sophomore Legare Augenstein is 25th with a 166 (81-85; +26) and sophomore Mary Kate Nelson is 30th with a 170 (86-84; +30).
"The team played well and I was pleased with their scores," said head coach Nadia Ste-Marie. "There was a strong, steady wind for all 36 holes. We are looking forward to posting four good rounds on Sunday to move ahead in the tournament and finish on a great note."
The final 18 holes of the Patriot League Championship will begin at 8:30 AM on Sunday. Live results will be available.
