Navy Football Receives Votes In Both Polls

Oct. 15, 2017

The Navy football team fell out of the Top 25 in both polls thanks to a 30-27 loss on the road to Memphis.  The Mids received nine voting points in the Amway Coaches poll (32nd most) and two in the Associated Press poll (tied for the 33rd most).  Navy lost by three points at Memphis despite turning the ball over five times, the most turnovers Navy has committed in a game since losing at Boston College in 2002.

American Athletic Conference foes USF (16th), UCF (20th) and Memphis (25th) along with future opponent Notre Dame (13th) are ranked in the AP poll, while USF (13th), UCF (20th) and Notre Dame (16th) are ranked in the coaches poll.  Memphis just missed being ranked in the coaches poll, getting 50 voting points (27th most).

Navy will play host to 20th ranked UCF on Saturday at 3:30 PM.  Tickets still remain and can be purchased by calling 1-800-US4-NAVY or online at: http://www.navysports.com/tickets/navy-tickets-m-footbl.html

Navy will try and beat a ranked opponent for a third-straight year (Memphis in 2015, Houston in 2016) for the first time since the 1940's when the Mids beat a ranked opponent five-straight years (1941-45).
